SELF (Science Education Literacy Fine Arts) is a mobile discovery lab bringing FUN informal, hands-on educational activities and experiences to under-served youth. We reach the lowest income families and immigrant families to offer educational opportunities and experiences they are unable to provide for themselves. Our goal is to equalize the playing field and close the achievement gap. We offer STEAM. That's Science Technology, Engineering, Art and Math in after-school programs, family workshops, special events, and Flash science. We show that science is relevant to their lives. Science is everywhere and in everything from food and sports to nail-polish and clothes to light-bulbs, mobile phones, and the food they eat. We make education FUN everywhere for everyone.
